Housing Assignments

First Year Students

Providence College uses an online housing management system to complete the first-year student housing assignment process.

First year students will be sent an e-mail to their Providence College e-mail address in early June with a link to the online housing application, which typically must be completed by mid to late June. If you have questions about the housing application, please contact reslife@providence.edu.

Welcome to Housing at Providence College

email sent to students Providence College email address on May 28, 2026

Welcome to Providence College! We are excited to welcome you to Friartown and into our residential community! The Office of Residence Life & Housing helps students navigate housing options and room assignments, supports students as they adapt to independent living, and delivers residential programs that provide students with the opportunity to grow, learn, and become the most authentic versions of themselves.

The Class of 2030 will be housed in six different residence halls across campus:

  • Aquinas Hall (coed; majority of wings will be women only and at least one wing will be men only with separate card-access entrances)
  • McDermott Hall (men only)
  • McVinney Hall (women only)
  • Meagher Hall (women only)
  • Raymond Hall (men only)
  • St. Joseph Hall (limited availability; coed by floor; sophomores are in St. Joseph as well)

For more information on our residence halls available for first year students, please visit: https://residence-life.providence.edu/residence-halls/.

Please remember that all members of the freshmen, sophomore, and junior classes must reside on campus with the exception of those who commute from the permanent address of a parent or guardian, are married, or have a compelling reason to reside off campus.  Students living at the seminary are also considered commuter status. Commuter students are required to complete steps 1 and 2 (below) ONLY.

To complete your profile and apply for housing, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Login into eRezLife with your PC email credentials: https://providence.erezlife.com/
  2. Complete your “My profile”.  It is important that all students complete this section to provide the College with your emergency contact and missing person contact information in case of an emergency.
  3. Under “Recommended actions” Select Apply for Housing and click Apply now for Fall On Campus 2026
  4. Complete ALL required fields in the application and submit. In addition to your application, you will also be submitting your 2026-2027 housing contract at this time.  If you are currently under 18, you must have a legal parent or guardian sign the contract.

*Please note that the answers you submit will help us identify the most compatible placement for you so please take time to reflect on your answers before you submit your application.

Next, you have three options:

Option 1:  Allow the eRezLife system to do the matching based on compatibility from the questionnaire. If you select this option, you are finished!

Option 2: Create a Roommate profile and review other student profiles for potential roommate matches and/or select a specific roommate. If you find a roommate that you like, please proceed to Option 3 below. This step must be completed prior to June 20th.

Option 3: I already know who I want to live with AND they have agreed to live with me! Create a roommate group by selecting roommate group on the menu on the left. Collect their PC email address(es) and follow the prompts to create your roommate group. All students in the roommate group will receive a follow up email requesting them to verify placement in the group. Once requests are verified, your roommate group is complete and you are finished with the application process.

Your application must be submitted by June 20th. All applications received on or before June 20th will receive equal consideration.

All members of the Class of 2030 are invited to apply for our inaugural living learning community, PC Well.  Students accepted into PC Well will live in Aquinas Hall on a fully renovated floor (renovations completed during summer 2026).  This community will bring students together around shared interests in well-being, healthy habits, and personal growth.  Through programming, peer support, and close collaboration with campus wellness staff, students will build skills that promote resilience, balance, and flourishing.  For more information on community benefits and expectations, please visit the PC Well webpage.  Students apply through a separate application process

If you have a medical condition that requires special accommodation, you should indicate this on the application. However, you must also apply for accommodations with Accessibility Services for your request to be considered.  Students may begin submitting their application and paperwork for housing accommodations through Accommodate on June 1, 2026.  Students should submit all information and supporting documentation on Accommodate by July 1, 2026.

If you have any questions, please contact our office at reslife@providence.edu or 401-865-2392. Welcome to the Friar Family and we look forward to seeing you in August!

Sincerely,

Beth Sculley Terrell Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life
