Summer Housing

Summer housing is only available for undergraduate students currently enrolled at Providence College. Housing for graduate students is considered on a case by case basis and subject to availability.

Summer 2024

  • Summer housing applications will be available on eRezLife beginning March 21, 2024.
  • Summer housing will be available starting on Monday, May 20th through the start of the Fall semester
  • Summer housing will be in Summer housing will be in Koffler, Bedford, and Davis Halls.
  • To apply for Summer Housing, students must complete the Summer Housing Application on eRezLife.
  • Students who want to apply for Early Arrival for the Fall semester must complete the Early Arrival Application on eRezLife (available early July 1).

Eligibility

Approved summer housing applications fall within but are not limited to the following:

  • On Campus Jobs (must be verified by their employer)
  • In-person Undergraduate Summer Courses when classes are in session
  • Athletes participating in approved athletic activity (a list of approved students is provided by Athletics)
  • Research, Community Service, or Internships approved by the Chirico Career Center, Center for Engaged Learned, School of Business, School of Nursing & Health Sciences, or Feinstein Institute.

The Office of Residence Life will verify students on-campus employment with supervisors as well as participation in approved research, community service or internships before approving summer housing requests. Students requesting to remain on campus for summer courses must provide a screenshot of their CyberFriar registration.

2024 Summer Housing Billing & Costs

  • The cost of Summer Housing is $16 per day for Koffler and Raymond Halls and $27 per day for Bedford and Davis Halls. There will be no singles in Bedford or Davis Halls. Koffler and Raymond single rooms are the same cost regardless of the capacity of the room used for summer housing.
  • All charges for summer housing will be allocated directly to your student account.
  • Students who plan to have their summer housing paid through grants or athletic scholarships are will be responsible for any account balances for summer housing not covered by their grants or athletic scholarships. Students are responsible for knowing the exact amount their grants and scholarships cover.
  • Payments can be made by logging into your CyberFriar account.

Important Items Related to Summer Housing

  • All students may be required to move locations over the summer to allow for summer maintenance projects. Students residing in apartments and remaining on campus for both summer session I and II will be provided a two week timeframe in which they will be required to move locations.
  • Bedford and Davis Halls possess two bedrooms per apartment (two students per room). All open beds will be filled. Bedford and Davis Halls have central air conditioning and a full kitchen in each apartment.
  • Koffler Hall has a common area kitchen. Koffler has central air conditioning.
  • Meal plans will not be offered during the summer housing period. Computer network access and cable television will be available.
  • Raymond Cafeteria is closed during summer months; however, Alumni Cafeteria is open on a limited basis.
  • The Student Health Center is closed during the summer housing period.
  • The Personal Counseling Center can provide consultation only by appointment during summer business hours. An on-call crisis counselor is available outside of business hours by calling 401-865-2343 and choosing option 2.
  • Visitation ends at midnight (12:00 am) each night. Absolutely no overnight guests are permitted. Any violation of this policy may result in a monetary fine of $200, removal from housing for the remainder of the summer and/or a referral to the Office of Community Standards.
  • All vehicles must be approved by the Transportation Office for on-campus parking during the summer. Please email the Transportation office at transportation@providence.edu to apply for a parking pass.
  • The Office of Residence Life and the Physical Plant reserve the right to enter any student room/apartment for safety and maintenance reasons. Providence College does not assume liability for loss or damage to the personal property of a student whether the College is in session or on holiday. Relocation of your assigned summer housing placement may be necessary due to Physical Plant maintenance. Residence Life will provide one week advance notice of a mandatory relocation via email.
  • All policies and procedures as stated in the Providence College Student Handbook apply to all campus residents and students during the summer housing period. Students who do not follow established procedures may be removed from campus for the remainder of the period and referred to the Office of Community Standards.
